Alpine Biathlon Initiation brings the logic of a biathlon race into a team format that anyone can take part in. Groups run short laps, then stop at a shooting stage where each miss adds a penalty to the team's time. The mix of physical effort and precise, calm shooting makes the activity demanding in a different way from a standard outdoor game: a team that sprints too hard arrives at the range with unsteady hands, and a team that gets too cautious loses ground on the clock. Participants learn the basic stance and breathing technique at the start, so that no prior experience is needed. The exercise works well for groups that want a sporting challenge with a clear ranking and a strong sense of shared success. The format can be played on snow in winter, or on grass in other seasons, which makes it a flexible choice for a conference programme or a corporate day. Instructors manage safety at every stage, and the stations are set up in a controlled area. The debrief looks at the choices made during the race: how the team agreed on pace, how each member handled pressure and how the group recovered after a penalty. The number of stages, the lap distance and the scoring are adapted to the group and to the setting.

Veelgestelde vragen
Do participants need any shooting experience?
No. The stance and the handling are explained at the start, and the instructors supervise every stage. The activity is aimed at beginners.
Is the race physically demanding?
The laps are short and the pace is set by the team. Participants can adapt their effort, and the scoring rewards precision as much as speed.
Can the initiation be held on grass outside winter?
Yes. The same format is run on grass during the rest of the year, with the same stages and a similar scoring system.
