Riding is the most traditional way to cross the Camargue. The horses are used to the terrain, the paths run through reeds, pasture and open ground, and the view changes constantly with the light and the season. A guided ride lets the group enjoy the landscape at a steady pace, with a guide who leads the line and explains the area as it unfolds.
The ride is designed for a mixed group. Before departure, each participant is matched with a horse and a level of ride, and the guide checks the basics of seat and control at the start. Beginners ride at a walk and a gentle trot, while more experienced riders can take a longer route. The group stays together, which keeps the ride sociable and gives time to talk.
The ride works well as a half-day outing, a team moment during a seminar or the centrepiece of a Camargue programme. It can be combined with a meal at the estate or with the cart tour and the 4x4 safari for a fuller day. The route, the duration and the level are set according to the group, the season and the weather on the day.
