The lagoons of the Camargue are some of its most important and most fragile landscapes. A small open train offers a gentle way to follow the shore, to see the water, the reeds and the birds that come and go with the seasons, and to hear the stories of the people who have worked this coast for generations. The ride is calm, and it suits every age and every level of mobility.
The guide accompanies the train and gives the context of the area as it unfolds. Explanations cover the balance of salt and fresh water, the role of the wetlands for wildlife, and the traditional uses of the land along the shore. Stops can be planned at viewpoints where the group can take photographs or simply look across the water.
The tour works well as an arrival programme, as a link between two parts of a day, or as a relaxed outing before a meal by the water. It is easy to schedule and does not require any preparation. The route, the duration and the stops are adjusted to the time available, the season and the size of the group.
