Marseille's sheltered bay and reliable sea breezes make it an excellent place for a team regatta. Participants are divided into crews of four to six, briefed on the basics of sailing, and then take to the water in dinghies, each group with a qualified instructor. Races are short and tactical, and roles rotate so that everyone steers, trims and calls the tactics.
The programme is planned around the forecast. Wind and sea conditions are checked on the morning of the event, and a land-based team challenge is prepared in case of strong wind or rain.

Do participants need sailing experience?
No. The programme is designed for beginners. A safety briefing and a warm-up come before any race, and instructors accompany each group.
What happens if the weather is unsuitable?
The regatta is adjusted or moved on the day. A land-based team challenge near the Vieux-Port is prepared as the alternative, and the contract sets out how weather changes are handled.
Can the regatta be combined with a seafood lunch?
Yes. Marseille has a strong seafood tradition, and a lunch on the Vieux-Port or along the Corniche can follow the races, with menus adapted to dietary needs.
