Outdoor activities in France
Outdoor programmes take corporate groups onto France's coastlines, lakes and mountains. Teams can surf in Biarritz, paddle on Lake Annecy, snowshoe above Megève or race dinghies off Marseille. Each activity is chosen for its suitability to the group and its season, and each comes with a weather plan, qualified instructors and the safety standards the setting requires.
Choosing an outdoor setting
France's outdoor settings vary strongly by season. Atlantic coasts suit surfing and beach challenges through the warmer months, Mediterranean harbours host sailing from spring to autumn, and mountain routes are best in winter for snowshoeing and in summer for guided walks. We recommend choosing the setting first and the activity second, so that the programme matches the conditions the group will actually face.
Group fitness is the second factor. Most outdoor programmes can be adapted for mixed levels, with roles, routes and tasks that allow every participant to contribute.
Safety, weather and insurance
Every outdoor activity is delivered by qualified instructors or guides, with the equipment and the safety briefing that the activity requires. Life jackets, avalanche equipment and wetsuits are provided where needed, and sessions are adapted or rescheduled when conditions are not suitable.
We check the insurance cover of each supplier and share the terms with the client. Participants with health conditions are asked to inform us in advance, so that the programme can be adjusted or the participant can take on a different role.
Planning around the season
Outdoor programmes are most reliable when booked in the right season. The French DMC confirms availability, weather windows and tide or snow conditions before proposing a date. For coastal activities, we also consider local events and holiday periods, which can affect access to beaches and harbours.
We recommend a clear rain or wind alternative for every outdoor day, so that the group can keep the same objective even if the activity changes.
常見問題
Are outdoor team building activities possible in winter?
Yes. Snowshoeing and guided mountain walks are best between December and March, and some coastal activities remain possible in autumn and spring with suitable clothing.
Do participants need previous experience for outdoor activities?
In most cases no. Our programmes are designed for beginners, with instruction before any challenge, and more experienced participants can take on more demanding roles.
What happens if the weather changes on the day?
The activity is adapted, moved or replaced by a planned alternative. Changes are decided with the supplier for safety reasons, and the terms are set out in the contract.
