The Luberon combines hilltop villages, quarries, vineyards and, in season, lavender fields in a compact area around Apt, Gordes and Roussillon. A guided ride lets the group see the landscape at a pace that allows conversation, and it avoids the long road transfers that often take up a day in Provence.
Routes are set according to the group's level. Electric bicycles are offered so that participants of different fitness levels can ride together, and a support vehicle can follow when needed. The group stops at viewpoints and villages, and the route ends at a lunch table in a village or on a farm. - Summer heat can be intense. Rides are often scheduled in the morning or late afternoon from June to August.
- Lavender flowers in early summer, but the landscape changes through the year, and the vineyards are at their most colourful in autumn.
- Participants should be comfortable riding on quiet roads and in small groups. A short test ride is offered at the start.
- Bring sun protection, water and comfortable clothing. Electric bicycles are limited in number and should be booked early.
