On 6 June 1944, Allied forces landed on five beaches along the Normandy coast, in the largest amphibious operation in history. Today the landing sites, bunkers, memorials and museums form one of the most significant historical landscapes in Europe. A guided tour in a private coach allows your group to understand the operation, from the airborne drops to the fighting inland, with a guide who knows the terrain well.

The route typically includes Omaha Beach, the Normandy American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, Pointe du Hoc and Utah Beach, with a visit of a museum of the landings. The programme is adapted to the group's interests and time, and can be extended to the Caen Memorial or the Mont-Saint-Michel.

This is a serious, reflective programme. We recommend it for groups who want to understand the history of the region and who wish to mark the day with respect and care.

Objectives

  • Understand the Normandy landings and their strategic context
  • Honour the memory of those who fought and died, with respect
  • Offer a meaningful, reflective day outside the usual corporate format

How it works

  1. 1The group is picked up by private coach from Caen, Bayeux or Paris, depending on the programme.
  2. 2The guide presents the operation and the landing plan on the coach before the first stop.
  3. 3Stops at the beaches, batteries and memorials follow, with time for reflection at each site.
  4. 4A lunch in Bayeux or along the coast is arranged, with a menu chosen for the group.
  5. 5The day ends with a visit of a museum or a final site, before the return transfer.

Good to know

  • This is a full, physically moderate day with a lot of time on the coach; walking on beaches and dunes can be uneven.
  • The Normandy American Cemetery and some sites have specific dress and conduct expectations; we brief the group in advance.
  • Museum opening hours vary by season, and some sites close in winter; the programme is set accordingly.
  • Weather on the Channel coast changes quickly; guests should bring a waterproof layer.

Indicative budget

Indicative: from about €230 per person for a full-day coach tour of a group of 20 to 40, including guide and museum entry, excluding lunch. Quote on request.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the journey from Paris?

From Paris, the coast is several hours away by road, so a day trip is demanding. Many groups prefer an overnight stay in Caen or Bayeux, which gives a more relaxed programme and more time at each site.

Can the programme be tailored to veterans or families of those involved?

Yes. We can tailor the route, the pace and the moments of reflection to the group's background, and arrange for a guide with specific historical knowledge where needed.

Is the tour suitable for a corporate incentive?

It can work well as a cultural and reflective element within a wider programme, for example combined with a dinner in Bayeux or a visit to Mont-Saint-Michel. We recommend a considered, respectful tone for the group briefing.
