Airport access

Bordeaux-Mérignac airport (BOD) is about 12 km from the city centre, around 25 minutes by road, with direct European connections. The TGV from Paris-Montparnasse reaches Bordeaux-Saint-Jean in about 2 h 04. Saint-Émilion is about 40 km from Bordeaux, roughly 40 minutes by road; the Médoc châteaux lie 30 to 60 minutes north-west; Arcachon is about an hour by road or by regional train. For groups travelling from southern or eastern France, Toulouse is around 2 h by TGV.

MICE capacity

The Palais des Congrès de Bordeaux, at Bordeaux Lac, has three auditoriums of 196, 353 and about 1,293 seats, ten committee rooms and around 3,000 m² of modular space, according to the Bordeaux tourism and congress sources. The Palais 2 l'Atlantique offers a main hall that can seat up to 6,000 in theatre style. The Palais de la Bourse in the centre holds about 600 seats in theatre layout. Châteaux and wine estates host dinners and seminars, from small groups to several hundred guests, subject to availability. Exact capacities are confirmed per project.

Seasonality

Spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) are the preferred seasons; the harvest in September and October is a highlight, though some châteaux are less available for hospitality during picking. July and August are warm and active on the coast. Winter is mild and quiet, with competitive rates, but some estates reduce visits. Large trade shows and wine events can tighten hotel availability, so dates should be checked against the Bordeaux calendar.

What meeting venues does Bordeaux offer for 1,000 delegates?

Yes, many châteaux host private dinners and seminars on request, subject to availability and group size. Capacities range from small groups to a few hundred. We arrange coaches and wine pairings.

When is the grape harvest and can we visit?

The harvest usually takes place in September and October, depending on the year and the grape variety. Some estates welcome visitors, others limit access during picking. We confirm what is possible with each château.
