Why choose French Riviera

  • Nice Côte d'Azur airport is a single entry point for the whole coast, with many direct European connections.
  • Proven congress venues: Palais des Festivals in Cannes (a 2,309-seat main auditorium) and Grimaldi Forum in Monaco (a 1,864-seat Salle des Princes).
  • Palace hotels, boutique properties and private villas for executive groups and VIP guests.
  • Sea-based programmes: private yachts, the Lérins Islands and day trips to Saint-Tropez or Cap-Ferrat.
  • Hilltop villages, perfumeries and Provençal cuisine within 45 minutes of the coast for cultural days.
  • A mild climate that extends the season, with spring and autumn well suited to outdoor sessions.

Airport access

Nice Côte d'Azur (NCE) is the main airport: about 30 to 40 minutes by road to Cannes and Antibes, 25 to 30 minutes to Monaco and 15 to 20 minutes to Cap-Ferrat. Saint-Tropez is roughly 1 h 45 to 2 h by road in normal traffic and can also be reached by sea from the Gulf. The TGV from Paris to Nice takes about 5 h 30 to 6 h, and TER regional trains link Nice, Antibes, Cannes and Monaco along the coast; Nice to Monaco takes about 20 minutes. Helicopter shuttles are an option for VIP transfers. Coastal traffic is dense in July and August and during major events, so transfers are planned with margins.

MICE capacity

In Cannes, the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès has a Grand Auditorium Louis Lumière of 2,309 seats, according to the official site, plus further halls such as the Théâtre Claude Debussy (1,068 seats). In Monaco, the Grimaldi Forum's Salle des Princes seats 1,864 according to the venue, alongside rooms of about 800 and 400 seats. Nice has convention facilities, and we confirm the current availability and configuration for each brief. Palace hotels in Cannes, Nice, Monaco and Cap-Ferrat offer ballrooms and terraces for group dinners; capacities are confirmed hotel by hotel.

Seasonality

Spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) are the preferred seasons: mild weather and a full events calendar. The calendar is dense, with major trade events in Cannes (MIPIM in March, the Festival de Cannes in May, Cannes Lions in June, MIPCOM in October), the Monaco Grand Prix in May and yachting shows in September; hotel availability and rates tighten sharply around these dates. July and August are the peak holiday months, with heavy traffic and high demand. Winter is calmer and well suited to small boards at lower rates, though some seasonal venues are closed.

Frequently asked questions

Which venues can host a convention on the French Riviera?

Cannes (Palais des Festivals, with a 2,309-seat auditorium) and Monaco (Grimaldi Forum, 1,864 seats in the Salle des Princes) are the reference venues. Large hotels also offer ballrooms and breakout rooms for smaller meetings. We confirm availability and configuration for each project.

When is the best time for an incentive on the Riviera?

April to June and September to October combine mild weather with good availability outside peak event weeks. July and August are crowded and expensive, and winter is calm but some seasonal venues close. We check your dates against the Cannes and Monaco event calendars.

How long does it take to move between Nice, Cannes and Monaco?

By road from Nice, Cannes is about 30 to 40 minutes and Monaco about 25 to 30 minutes in normal traffic. Regional trains take about 20 minutes from Nice to Monaco. In summer and during events, we add margin to coach transfers.

Can we privatise a yacht or a villa for our group?

Yes, yachts and villas can be chartered or hired for dinners and receptions, subject to availability and licensing. We recommend booking early for May to September. We handle contracts, safety briefings and catering.

Is Monaco included in a French programme and what are the border formalities?

Monaco has no border control with France, but guests should carry valid identity documents or passports, as for any stay in France. Transfers from Nice airport take 25 to 30 minutes. We coordinate venues and coaches on both sides.

How do the major trade shows affect hotel availability?

Events such as MIPIM, the Festival de Cannes, Cannes Lions, MIPCOM and the Monaco Grand Prix fill hotels in Cannes and the surrounding area, and rates rise. Booking several months ahead or choosing Antibes, Nice or Cap-Ferrat for your base reduces the pressure.
