The Annecy area has a range of mountain gorges and streams, and canyoning is one of the most practised water activities in the Alps. For a corporate group, the descent offers a shared challenge that depends on trust and communication, with a clear progression and a guide in charge at every step.

Each descent is chosen according to the group's level, the season and the water conditions. Participants wear a wetsuit, helmet and harness, and the guide briefs the group on safety, the ropes and the jumps before entering the water. Options range from a gentle descent to a more technical route for experienced participants. The activity suits a team day in the Alps, a welcome event for an incentive group or a training format for a sales team, and it works well alongside a lakeside lunch in Annecy.

Objectives

  • Create a physical challenge that requires trust and clear communication
  • Give a group a shared experience that is distinctive to the Alps
  • Adapt the descent to each level, from beginner to experienced
  • Finish with a lakeside lunch or a boat trip on Lake Annecy

How it works

  1. 1We confirm the group size, the date and the level, and choose a canyon that matches the water and weather conditions.
  2. 2Equipment is fitted at the meeting point: wetsuit, helmet, harness and specialist footwear.
  3. 3The guide gives a safety briefing and demonstrates the rope and jump techniques before the group enters the canyon.
  4. 4The group descends in small teams, with the guide leading and checking each step.
  5. 5Transfers return the group to Annecy, where the afternoon programme can continue.

Good to know

  • Canyoning is a guided activity with minimum age and health requirements set by the operator. We share these in advance.
  • Water temperature stays cold even in summer, so a wetsuit is provided. Participants should be comfortable in water.
  • Water levels and weather may change the route on the day. The guide has the final decision for safety.
  • Bring a swimsuit, a towel and a change of clothes. Specialist footwear is usually provided.

Indicative budget

Indicative, from around €110 per person excluding VAT for a guided half-day descent with equipment. Transfers, lunch and private guiding for smaller groups are quoted separately.

Frequently asked questions

Do participants need to swim?

Yes, participants should be comfortable in water. The guide adapts the route to the group, but the activity is not suitable for anyone who cannot swim.

Is canyoning safe?

It is supervised by certified guides with full equipment. Safety depends on careful preparation, the guide's instructions and the conditions on the day, and any route can be changed or cancelled.

What is the best season?

Late spring to early autumn is the most comfortable period. Water levels are highest after the snowmelt, so the guide chooses routes accordingly.
