Lake Annecy is one of the most photographed lakes in France, and the surrounding mountains offer some of the best paragliding conditions in the Alps. A tandem flight gives participants a view of the lake and the peaks without any prior experience, because they fly with a certified pilot.

Flights are scheduled around the weather. Each participant is equipped and briefed before take-off, and the pilot manages the flight from start to landing. Groups are organised in rotations, so the whole group can fly over the course of the day. A ground programme, such as a lakeside lunch or a short walk in Annecy's old town, fills the time between flights. The format suits a corporate group that wants a short, memorable activity with a strong impact, and it is often used as a closing event for a seminar in the Alps.

Objectives

  • Offer a memorable experience that needs no prior training
  • Give each participant a personal moment within a group programme
  • Use the lake and mountain setting as a backdrop for a closing event
  • Combine flights with a ground programme in Annecy

How it works

  1. 1We confirm the group size and date, then check the forecast for wind, visibility and thermal conditions.
  2. 2Participants receive an equipment and safety briefing on the ground, and are fitted with a harness and helmet.
  3. 3Each participant flies in tandem with a certified pilot, in rotation, from a launch site above the lake.
  4. 4The group lands in a meadow near the lake, where the programme continues with a lunch or an aperitif.

Good to know

  • Flights depend entirely on weather and wind. They are sometimes postponed or moved to another day, so we keep a flexible date.
  • Participants should be in reasonable health and tell the operator of any medical or mobility constraints. Weight limits apply to tandem flights.
  • Warm layers, sturdy shoes and sunglasses are recommended, as temperatures can drop at altitude.
  • Participants who are nervous about heights should tell us in advance so that we can plan accordingly.

Indicative budget

Indicative, from around €120 per person excluding VAT for a tandem flight with briefing and equipment. Private flights, catering, transfers and exclusive use of a launch site for a full group are quoted separately.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe?

Tandem flights are operated by certified pilots with specialist equipment. Flights do not take place in unsafe conditions, and the pilot has the final decision.

What happens if the weather is poor?

Flights are rescheduled or cancelled, and a ground programme such as a lake cruise or a tour of the old town is offered as an alternative.

Do participants need training?

No. The pilot handles take-off and landing, and participants are briefed on what to do during the flight.
