Dinner and fireworks on the Vieux-Port, Marseille

A seated dinner overlooking the Vieux-Port in Marseille, followed by a fireworks display over the harbour. Fireworks depend on municipal authorisation and the city's calendar, and are never guaranteed; a dinner-only programme is the default.

The Vieux-Port is the historic heart of Marseille, lined with cafés and fish restaurants and framed by the forts that guard the harbour. An evening dinner here, with the harbour lights reflected on the water, suits groups that want a Mediterranean setting with a sense of place.

We book a restaurant or terrace with a view of the harbour for a private group, with a seated dinner built around bouillabaisse and other Provençal and Mediterranean dishes. Where the city authorises a fireworks display on the chosen date, the group can watch it from the terrace or from a reserved point on the quay.

Because fireworks are controlled by the municipality, we only include them once the date and the authorisation are confirmed.

Objectives

  • Offer a Mediterranean evening with a strong sense of place
  • Combine a harbour-view dinner with a finale that depends on local authorisation
  • Show Marseille as a serious venue for corporate events beyond Paris

How it works

  1. 1Check of the restaurant or terrace availability, and of the municipal calendar for any display.
  2. 2Arrival of the group on the quay, with a welcome drink on the terrace.
  3. 3Seated dinner with harbour views, with a Provençal menu and local rosé or white wines.
  4. 4Fireworks display, if authorised, watched from the terrace or a reserved point.
  5. 5Return transfers to hotels in Marseille or to the station, as arranged.

Good to know

  • Fireworks on the Vieux-Port require municipal authorisation and are subject to weather, security and the city's own calendar. We never promise them until they are confirmed.
  • Bouillabaisse must be ordered in advance, as it is prepared to order for each table.
  • Mistral wind can be strong on the harbour; a covered terrace is always the back-up.
  • Traffic and parking around the Vieux-Port are restricted; coaches should drop guests at an agreed point.

Indicative budget

Indicative, from €210 per person excluding VAT, for a seated harbour-view dinner with a Provençal menu and wines. A fireworks display, where authorised, is quoted separately once the date is confirmed. Transfers are quoted separately.

Frequently asked questions

Can we book a fireworks display for our group?

A display can only be organised with the city's authorisation and on dates the municipality accepts. We check feasibility first, and the dinner proceeds without it if the display is not approved.

What food should we expect?

The menu is built around Mediterranean seafood, including bouillabaisse, grilled fish and Provençal vegetables, with local wines. Vegetarian and dietary options are available on request and confirmed in advance.

How do guests reach Marseille?

The TGV from Paris Gare de Lyon reaches Marseille Saint-Charles in about three hours, and the station is about 15 minutes' walk from the Vieux-Port. Groups usually travel by train and use coaches for the transfers from the station.
