Lyon is widely regarded as the gastronomic capital of France, and its traditional cooking, built on bouchons, market produce and rustic techniques, is a clear subject for a workshop. For a corporate group, cooking together rewards collaboration: participants prepare dishes in small teams under a chef's direction, then eat what they have made.

The menu is chosen from classic Lyonnaise preparations and adapted to the season and to dietary needs. The workshop takes place in a professional kitchen or a dedicated culinary studio, with aprons and tools provided. The group also learns where the dishes come from, which produce they rely on, and which regional wines accompany them.

Objectives

  • Build teamwork through a shared practical task
  • Introduce participants to Lyonnaise cooking and its produce
  • End the session with a shared meal and regional wine
  • Suit mixed experience levels, with a chef guiding each team

How it works

  1. 1We confirm the group size, dietary requirements and the menu theme, and book the kitchen or studio.
  2. 2The chef welcomes the group, explains the menu and divides participants into small teams.
  3. 3Each team prepares its dishes with the chef's guidance, with short demonstrations of key techniques.
  4. 4The group sits down to a shared meal, with regional wines selected to match the dishes.
  5. 5Recipes are shared at the end, and transfers return the group to the hotel or the next point of the programme.

Good to know

  • Menus follow the season and the market. We confirm the dishes at least two weeks before the workshop.
  • Participants should tell us about allergies and dietary restrictions in advance.
  • Wine service depends on the chosen package. Alcohol is served responsibly, and non-alcoholic options are available.
  • Lyon is busiest during trade fairs and the Fête des Lumières in December. Early booking is advised.

Indicative budget

Indicative, from around €120 per person excluding VAT for a cooking workshop with ingredients, aprons and a shared meal. Wine pairing, a market visit, a private room and transfers are quoted separately.

Frequently asked questions

Do participants need cooking experience?

No. Teams work with the chef, who adjusts the tasks to each participant's level, and no one is expected to know the techniques in advance.

Can the workshop cater for vegetarian or other diets?

Yes. We propose alternatives in advance, and the chef adapts the menu where a traditional recipe does not fit the requirements.

Can the group take a cooking class in the evening?

Yes. Evening sessions are possible and often pair well with a welcome dinner. We confirm the timing according to the kitchen's availability.
